Just some friction in The Machine

Today is the historic recall election in California. The major networks are already projecting that Davis is out and Arnold is in. View election results at sfgate.com (Bye, bye, Gray! :-) :-) :-) )

On another subject, Former Rep. William E. Dannemeyer had an opinion piece published in the Washington Times talking about how Congress can end the Ten Commandments in public places, "under God" in the pledge and other cases pushing the edges of political correctness, by removing the jurisdiction of the federal courts on those issues.

Devvy Kidd has a great commentary today with an optimistic view of our ability to retake our government. I'm personally still optimistic that our Constitutional principles can survive and guide us without the activation of militias, and the forceable retaking of the government by the people with force of arms. Granted, I still believe that it is the right and duty of every able bodied citizen to own a firearm and ammunition and be willing to heed the call should it come to that, I just happen to agree with Devvy, we're not at that point yet. Sometimes I think we're pretty close, but for now I think we still have the chance to return to a constitutional republic without the inevitable downward spiral that social democracies inevitably bring.
